About...: Brings up a dialog box containing the program credits. You can also set the font and font size you want Info... to use here. When the "Ask for Changes" check box is checked, then Info... will ask you whether you want to save any changes before closing a file. If you leave it unchecked, then Info... will automatically save your work. When the "Automatically add applications" check box is checked, then Info... will automatically add document-creating applications that it doesn't already know of to the application list.
Goodies: if you click on the box containing the file's descriptional information, it will be placed in the clipboard. Similarly, clicking on the file's icon places it in the clipboard.
Handling text files:
Info... has the capability to handle text files in the same way desk accessories such as MockWrite or miniWriter do. To open a text file, hold down the command key while selecting Info... from the Apple menu (if Info... is not already open) or clicking the Info... button. (To create a new text file, instead of open an existing one, hold down the Option key instead.) Continue holding it down until the standard file dialog box appears.
Miscellanous:
1. Info... supports the Edit menu, including the Undo command. 2. For technical reasons, Info cannot open files that have the same name as the currently running application. 3. If Info... has trouble finding icons, try rebuilding the disk's desktop (hold down the Option and Command keys while the Finder starts up).
